My works are an exploration of architecture and space; more specifically, how the buildings that surround us shape us and determine how we interact with each other. How we spend our time and how they us make us feel.
My drawings capture spaces that are lesser noticed; industrial interior spaces, smaller underground spaces or sites one might pass straight by. By using collage and layering, I incorporate these with 'opposite' environments; rainforests, the countryside, greenery.
I am interested in a wider exploration of how spaces can change our health and behaviours, and ideas around 'through routes' from one place to another imagined environment.
Drawing is at the heart of the production of my work. I use pencil, pen and watercolour on paper, often using collage and papercutting to add depth and layers.
